The exact products shown [OR similar products from the same brand] have been repeatedly tested by Lead Safe Mama, LLC (using XRF technology) and have been consistently found to be Lead-free.
Baby Toys:
As you would with any purchase, please read the full product description (and product reviews) when you click through BEFORE making your purchase decision. Please only buy toys that are appropriate for the age of your baby.
- All children’s toys manufactured today and sold by known major brands should be Lead-free.
- The selections below are from brands Lead Safe Mama, LLC trusts because we have tested hundreds of examples of modern toys from these brands and not found any to test positive for Lead (using XRF technology)
- We recommend avoiding most mass-manufactured stuffed animals made from conventional materials (because of the potential for Antimony – a known carcinogen – to be present in the poly-fil stuffing).
- Any baby toys (toys specifically marketed and noted on the package as being manufactured for use by babies) sold at major retailers (Target, Walmart, etc.) in stores (vs. online) today should also be Lead-free (although they can legally have up to 90 ppm Lead in the paint or coating and up to 100 ppm Lead in the substrate).
- Toys manufactured before 2011 were not sufficiently regulated for toxicants and (in the absence of independent testing) should not be given to babies to play with.

In your previous post on baby toys you also had Hape toys, is there a reason they are no longer on this page?

I’d love to know this as well 🙂

Hello,
Just because I have tested and written about something (on the main site) does not mean it is something I would recommend. I test and write up lots of items that are sent in by readers that I would never personally recommend or use.
In the case of the brand in question – they specifically manufacture painted wooden toys intended for use by the youngest of babies.
I do not recommend that babies who might put toys in their mouth use any painted wooden toys.
