SO I SEE NOTHING ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BLUE CORELLE DISHES OR THE CORELLE WITH FRUIT ON IT. ARE THEY LEAD FREE OR NOT???
Tamara says
They are not consistently toxicant free.
Rachelle says
Hello, I have the Fortessa Archie glass dinnerware set. I saw your post about your testing with Fortessa dinnerware, but it wasn’t my exact pieces. Those are white porcelain and mine are clear glass. Are you aware of the Fortessa Archie set? In the discription is states made with soda-lime with magnesium oxide and alumina. The alumina concerns me as I researched it a bit.
Tamara says
Hi Rachelle – I am sorry – I have not tested those. Here’s how to send something in for testing:

Amber Diedrich says
Hi ,
I’m wondering about tervis tumblers. Have you tested them yet? I can send you one to test if you need one.
Tamara says
I am not familiar with that brand off the top of my head. Have you already looked it up on the Lead Safe Mama website? Please check out this link if you are interested in sending something in: https://tamararubin.com/2019/08/tamara-can-i-send-you-one-of-my-dishes-to-test-for-lead/

I would like to find a dish-set in BLACK.

Lead & Cadmium free
ANY suggestions as to WHO has a (round plate) dinner set?
Julie says
Have you tested Southern Living dinnerware for toxins?
Tamara says
Hi Julie – I don’t know that I have. If you could follow the instructions on this post and send me an email with pictures I could give you a better idea. There are so many similar sounding patterns and product names that I really need pictures to be sure if I have tested something:

I’m searching for plates that are oven safe. I was considering Pillivuyt but not sure if you have other suggestions. Thank you for your work!
Tamara says
The Pllivuyt dishes can have Lead:

Julia Vonhelms says
Why no mention of Fiesta dishes as being lead free? have you tested them? Thank you.
Tamara says
The Fiesta dishes are not consistently Lead free (nor are they consistently free of other toxicants) so I will not list them here. I have several posts about them on the Lead Safe Mama blog.
Here’s a newer “Lead Free” Fiesta dish with Lead:

Laura says
Have you tested solid white corelle dishes? I thought they were lead and other toxins free. That’s what I use for my family, but since it’s not listed here I’m rethinking their safety.
Tamara says
They are lead-free. I have stopped recommending them for ethical and political reasons.
More on that here:

Thank you for this info! I wasn’t aware of their dishonesty. I’ll be shopping for brands you recommend above next time I’m in the market for dishware.
Thank you!
Joanie says
You’ve previously said that post-2015 Lenox has tested safely so far in your experience, & you’ve recommended Lenox Opal Innocence as a lead-free fine china. Are those rec’s (esp. the Opal Inn.) still good? Thx.
Tamara says
I do not believe that I have ever expressly recommended anything from Lenox.
The brand has a history of Lead use and denial of Lead-use.
I have shared test results and encourage readers to make informed decisions based on test results. If people want a Lead-free or Lead-safe(r) fine china – Lenox tends to be better than they used to be – but the company is fundamentally unethical for not taking responsibility for their past actions.
Here’s the category for that pattern on the main website:
https://tamararubin.com/category/opal-innocence/
Here’s the Lenox category on the main website:

This website only lists known / confirmed 100% Lead-free choices (that are consistently Lead-free across years and patterns).

Costco always has dish sets for sale. Currently there are Mikassa, BIA and Over and Back sets.
Any chance you test any of these brands?
Thank you for all that you do!
Tamara says
Test results are on the main website.
We will never recommend any Mikasa due to their historic use of Lead-contaminated materials.
I am not familiar with the other brands.
You can always look up the brands you are curious by putting the brand name in the search bar at the top of any page of http://www.LeadSafeMama.com
Here’s the Mikaasa category of articles, with test results (for context):

Is Fiestaware lead free? Thanks for all you do!
Teresa says
Hi Tamara, have you ever tested Ikea glassware? Also for dishes more specifically Ikea OFTAST.
Joanne says
I have a glass pie plate that my mother gave to me. Unsure of age but company is Marinex. Is it safe to assume all glass is lead free?
Thank you
