The exact products shown below [or, in some cases, similar items from the same manufacturer, made from the same materials] have been repeatedly tested by Lead Safe Mama, LLC (using XRF technology, which tests down to a low threshold of detection of single digit ppm), and have been consistently found to be Lead-free.
Blender Notes:
If you order one of these products and it is (for any reason) not as advertised, OR it comes with a painted design or logo that we have not tested (check the Lead Safe Mama website for the exact products that we have tested and reported on), please let us know, so we can remove the selection from this page. There are examples of items at various price points below – including low-priced and higher-priced options.
As you would with any purchase, please read the full product description (and product reviews) when you click through BEFORE making your purchase decision. If you think the quality of something you purchase via these links is “sub-par” (taking into account the price point of an item – for example – a $20 cookie sheet will not likely be “heirloom-quality”, whereas a $100 baking sheet should be!) please let us know, and we will remove the item from this page.

Lead-Free Blenders
While we have promised “no stories” with this website, for this particular page, I will share some limited narrative information:
- The two brands of blenders listed below are the only (currently available) brands that we at Lead Safe Mama, LLC have confirmed (with repeated testing) appear to have produced consistently Lead-free products for more than 15 years.
- We have found issues with many other brands we have tested (older and newer models – as late as 2015…issues including: Lead-contaminated glass; Lead-contaminated electrical cords; Leaded metal, rubber, or plastic buttons & knobs; and Leaded-brass blending components) — and these are the only two brands we have tested for which we have (consistently) not seen any component test positive for Lead in recent models.
- This does not mean that other brands are not Lead-free (they may be), but of the numerous brands of blender-products we have tested since 2009 here at Lead Safe Mama, LLC we have not yet found other available blender products/ brands that have been consistently Lead-free (confirmed by us).
- There are many brands we have not yet tested and we will try to test more, so we can share more options in the coming year.
- If you do have vintage versions from the two brands shared below (with vintage denoting an item more than 20 years old) there is a high likelihood that some components may test positive for Lead — and unfortunately, the only way to determine for sure if that is the case is with XRF testing.
- There is not any home test kit that can reliably test all components of a blender for Lead.
- Instant Brands also had a great (Lead-free) blender we were recommending for a while…but they stopped selling that model.
- We will continue to look for other blenders that meet our standards for being 100% Lead-free (consistently) – and we will update this page if / when we find other brands we have tested and can confidently report to be Lead-free.
- NOTE: All modern blenders will have electrical cords treated with Antimony – as part of the current flame-retardant chemical mix applied to most cords [that has replaced the older practice of treatment using Lead].

Thank you for your tremendous contribution to keeping families safe from toxic exposure while helping keep companies accountable at least via the consumer if not other sources. Would you happen to have knowledge of the safety of the Insta Pot Blender with Glass Carafe. This was my effort to choose what we thought was safe. Thank you again for your continued education and activism.

Hi Diane –
Per the note above, that is the other one we tested that was consistently Lead-free.
That is the one we have at our home and bought for each of our adult sons too.
They stopped making that model however.

Nutribullet has a thin silicone clear membrane around the brass. Is this enough to protect us?

Vitamix sells a stainless steel jar. With measurements on the inside. Does someone need to send it to you to have it tested ?
Tamara says
Hi Denise! The Vitamix stainless canister is also Lead-free. Here’s our affiliate link for that product: https://amzn.to/3y1iaew

I have a cuisinart blender, hope it’s lead free! The carafe is plastic.
I had a vintage oster and donated it when I inherited the cuisinart because the oster was so loud. Hope I didn’t keep the wrong one.
Thank you for all you do!
Tamara says
Hi Bettina,
i do not recommend Cuisinart Blenders – they have tested positive for Leaded (food-contact) components in the past and I do not know when (or if) they changed that. Here’s a link with more information:

Have you tested the Pampered Chef Cooking Blender? Thanks!

I saw you had blendtec on your Amazon storefront but its not listed here ?
Tamara says
I think Amazon substituted that for a previous listing – which is why I am moving things away from the Amazon store paradigm (since they change my listings without alerting me).
