The exact products shown below [OR similar products from the same brand] have been repeatedly tested by Lead Safe Mama, LLC (using XRF technology) and have been consistently found to be Lead-free.
Food Storage Note:
The products below have been expressly chosen because they do not have any decorations (logos or otherwise) that might be made of Leaded paint. If a product on this page has decorations or painted markings it is because recent examples from that brand have been consistently found to be Lead-free using XRF technology. Please note that MODERN Pyrex-brand glass pieces with WHITE painted logos can be painted with high-Lead paint and should be avoided – these are typically the containers with glass lids & we have intentionally not listed any of those below. As you would with any purchase, please read the full product description (and product reviews) when you click through BEFORE making your purchase decision.

Q1: Is there ANY ALUMINUM OXIDE in the boroscillite glass? (Bormiolli Rocco)
Did you specifically test for this and OTHER metals, in all the ones you recommend-or..just tested for lead?
Curious

Q2: Wondering if you can test the ‘cheaper’ prep food storage containers, here on Amazon, Chinese brands?

VTOPMART (18 pack/ (36 incl lids)
SKROAM 5 pk (3-DIVIDER)
HOMBERKING (2 DIVIDER) 10 pk
*These (above)-claim to be Borscillite glass in their ADS further down on their AMZ ad page…
BUT…
*Nowhere on the box it comes in does it mention Lead free/Borscillite glass
Also…
*The advertisers mention oven safe to 700-something degrees
Box packaging says just “oven safe”

* These glass storage pieces have a colored hue of either gray or green-ish around their prospective rims

Hi Barbara!
This website is our shopping only website that speificially only includes products that we have tested repeatedly and found to consistently be Lead-free.
Other considerations:
The products selected for this site have also consistently tested negative (using XRF technology) for Arsenic and Mercury.
Most of the products on the website have also tested negative for Cadmium. Some exceptions to this may include any products that may have a silicone component – as silicone components on these products may have trace Cadmium (at levels that are considered safe by all standards). We have not listed any products that contain unsafe levels of Cadmium in any silicone components. We have carefully limited our selections to include as few products as possible with silicone components that may test positive for even trace levels of Cadmium, or to include products that have silicone components that consistently test negative for Cadmium and/or are not food contact components (silicone water bottle sleeves for example do test positive for traces of Cadmium – and most silicone baby bottle nipples also test positive for trace Cadmium). Some (very few) selections on this website have glass components that test positive for Cadmium at levels that are considered safe by all standards (typically well under 40 ppm Cadmium).
As long as products do not have an electrical cord they should also be free of Antimony (with few exceptions). Some (but not all) of the products with electrical cords may have Antimony in the cords. Any product with polyfil can have Antimony (we have limited our selection of products with polyfil as well). Some batches of glassware for products we have selected for this website can have traces of Antimony (at levels that are considered safe by all standards), but we have made a concerted effort to only include glassware from brands that either consistently test negative for Antimony or that only have Antimony as a trace contaminant. Outside of product with electrical cords – there are no products on this site that have Antimony as an added ingredient. In our experience to date, none of the glass food storage selections we have chosen and none of the glass cups / tumblers we have chosen (on the glassware page) test positive for Antimony at even trace levels.
The menu for the site has a little more detail about the context for this website:
https://shopleadsafemama.com/2021/05/menu/
The main site – http://www.LeadSafeMama.com – has test results and other considerations listed.
If you are curious about other test results for a specific product not listed here (or even many of the products listed here) you can look them up on the main Lead Safe Mama website using the search bar at the top of any page or using the website menu. Here’s a link to the website menu for the main site: https://tamararubin.com/website-menu/
If you are interested in having something tested that has not been reported on on the main site – here’s the link with details on sending an item in to us for testing:https://tamararubin.com/2019/08/can-i-send-in-one-of-my-dishes-or-other-items-to-test-for-lead-yes-maybe-but-read-this-first-thanks/
We don’t recommend any pots and pans (or other metal cookware) with Aluminum food-contact surfaces, and we do not recommend any cast Aluminum cookware or utensils as they are often made with Lead-contaminated Aluminum. Some of the Lead-free glassware we recommend may test positive for other metals (Barium, Iron, Zinc, Zirconium, etc.) and some may test positive for some Aluminum. For the Lead-free products we recommend, any other metals of concern are either at trace levels or at levels that are “additive” levels but that are likely inert / bound in the substrate for the products recommended (given the intended use of these products).
The tagline for this website is “Shop Lead Safe Mama: No stories, No ads! Just Lead-free stuff!” – we try to keep all of the informational content on our main website: LeadSafeMama.com / TamaraRubin.com

I’ve seen Marinex brand quite a lot and considered buying. Maybe you could test that brand?

Hi Tamara, w-o-w thank you so much for all the work you’ve done & for the immense amount of energy you put into the lead-free shopping collection. It is such a great resource. As I am sure you have seen, many many blogs have been putting out posts including their choice of “non-toxic” bakeware or “low-tox” or “no PFAs” cookware, as well as non toxic, low waste personal items.
I have read that you use the XRF and it tests for levels of cadmium as well, I was wondering if you test for any other toxic chemicals?

Test results are on the main LeadSafeMama.com website for most of the products we share about here. We test for all (XRF Detectable) metals.
